Members of the Liberal Democrat Group have moved swiftly to appoint their new team for the new County Council.

Councillor David Jenkins (Histon, Impington & Cottenham) was unanimously re-elected as Group Leader as was Peter Downes (Brampton & Kimbolton) as his Deputy.

The Shadow Cabinet will include the following members:

Corporate Services: David Jenkins & Rupert Moss-Eckardt (Arbury)

Growth & Environmental Services: Nichola Harrison (Petersfield) & Kilian Bourke (Romsey)

Community & Adult Services: Fiona Whelan (Hardwick) & Michael Williamson (Waterbeach)

Children & Young People's Services: Peter Downes & Lucy Nethsinga (Newnham)

David Jenkins commented, "We have strong team on the County Council, younger than ever before but with knowledge and experience from both the public and private sectors. We shall be working hard for local residents, looking in these difficult times for the best services possible; looking for real value for money."

"We trust that the Conservative administration will see our criticisms in this light and appreciate that the work we are doing as the opposition is designed to help in finding the best way forward for our county."
